Firefighters from across the Upper Yakima Valley put out a three-alarm structure fire in Gleed Saturday morning.
A single-family home on Cedar Hill Drive was significantly damaged in the fire, according to Gleed Fire Department Chief Ken Frazier. There were no major injuries and the family who lived in the home is safe, Frazier said.
Emergency personnel responded to the fire at 6:40 a.m. and had it under control by 11 a.m., Frazier said.
Firefighters from Gleed, Selah, Naches, Yakima, East Valley, Naches Heights, West Valley and the Yakima Training Center responded. Frazier said the personnel were needed for labor-intensive overhauling.
"That's when we're going in and fighting all the little hidden pockets of fire," he said.
Officials are still investigating the cause. Frazier expects to know more Sunday or Monday.
