Colorado football and coach Deion Sanders have added another quarterback to their roster.
With Sanders' son, Shedeur Sanders, off to the 2025 NFL draft, the Buffaloes reportedly signed former Liberty quarterback Kaidon Salter, according to multiple reports. Salter has one season of eligibility remaining.

A three-year starter for the Flames, Salter completed 147 of 261 passes for 1,886 yards with 15 touchdowns to six interceptions this season. His best season came in 2023, however, as the former four-star recruit threw for 2,876 yards with 32 touchdowns to six interceptions, along with 1,089 rushing yards and 12 additional scores.
Salter led Liberty to the Fiesta Bowl in 2023, where it lost 45-6 to Oregon.
The rising fifth-year senior originally signed with Tennessee in the 2021 recruiting class, taking part in Vols' spring practices before transferring to Liberty in the fall. He was the No. 143 player nationally and No. 17 quarterback out of high school, according to 247Sports' Composite rankings.
Salter will likely serve as Colorado's starter in 2025, and serve as a bridge to incoming freshman Juju Lewis, one of the top-ranked quarterbacks of the 2025 cycle.
It'll be a change for Sanders, who has only coached one season of college football without his son as his starting quarterback. Shedeur Sanders, a four-year starter, was Sanders' signal-caller for two seasons at Jackson State before following him to Colorado.
